My son Jesse and I have had a long journey together , his dad and I divorced when he was 10 years old , it was hard because he asked often when was his dad was coming home ..to look into the eyes of a 10 year old and try to explain reasons was something I had to consider would be a life long affect on Jesse..Jesse has been very acceptable of my being a lesbian , and im so happy for that, it made life much easier..while some kids may understand others may not..I believe my honesty to him is what made the difference .
